Poking Fun At Rashard Mendenhall;s’s Blatant Racism
Former Illinois Illini and Pittsburgh Steeler Rashard Mendenhall checking in on X:
Rashard Mendenhall’s X handle: @R_Mendenhall
He said this:
“I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football. I’m better than ur goat.”
If a black dude is racist, remember, it’s your imagination because black people cannot be racist!
But, He does pose an interesting question. Should we replace the Pro Bowl with a game pitting all-Black players against all-White players? This isn’t about American History X here; it’s about African-American athletes facing off against White athletes. It’s a captivating concept.
Now, the issue lies in the fact that the White team lacks strong cornerbacks. Players like Jason Sehorn are not available in 2023. However, I embraced the challenge and assembled an all-White team for 2023:
Quarterback: Josh Allen
Running back: Christian McCaffrey Wide receivers: Cooper Kupp, Adam Thielen, Justin Watson
Tight end: Travis Kelce
Offensive line: Lane Johnson, Zack Martin, Jason Kelce, Joel Bitonio, David Bakhtiari
Defensive line: TJ Watt, the Bosa brothers, Maxx Crosby (notable for having four defensive ends)
Linebackers: Matt Milano, Alex Singleton, Leighton Vander Esch Cornerbacks: Hunter Renfrow, Braxton Berrios (known for their hard work on special teams)
Safeties: Reed Blankenship, Gunner Olszewski
Kick returner: Braxton Berrios
Punt returner: Britain Covey
Kicker: Jake Elliott
Punter: Johnny Hekker
Coaches: Nick Sirianni, Joe Brady (Offensive Coordinator), Bill Belichick (Defensive Coordinator)
This team looks promising. Thielen and Kupp as wide receivers are solid, and the offensive line seems capable. However, the interior defensive line and secondary need improvement, especially when facing a player like Tyreek Hill.
Here’s the 2023 all-Black team:
Quarterback: Jalen Hurts
Running back: Raheem Mostert
Wide receivers: Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, Justin Jefferson Tight end: Kyle Pitts
Offensive line: Trent Williams, Mike Onwenu, Jefferey Simmons (adapting to center), Tyler Smith, Tyron Smith
Defensive line: Haason Reddick, Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald, Chris Jones
Linebackers: Fred Warner, Roquan Smith, Demario Davis
Cornerbacks: Patrick Surtain II, Sauce Gardner Safeties: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Derwin James
Kick returner: KaVontae Turpin
Punt returner: Derius Davis
Kicker: Justin Reid
Punter: Pressley Harvin
Coaches: Mike Tomlin, Eric Bieniemy (Offensive Coordinator), DeMeco Ryans (Defensive Coordinator)
This team is loaded with talent, especially with the likes of Hill, Brown, and Jefferson. The all-Black team appears formidable and challenging to defend against.
What makes it even more intriguing is when you expand this concept to all-time teams. Then, White athletes have a better chance. This game could be a certified race war battle!
Here is my ALL-TIME Racist roster:
The Blacks Offense:
Quarterback: Warren Moon (unless Patrick Mahomes is considered more Black than White)
Running back: Jim Brown
Tackles: Jonathan Ogden, Walter Jones Guards: Gene Upshaw, Larry Allen Center: Dermontti Dawson
Wide receivers: Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens
Tight end: Antonio Gates
Defense:
Defensive ends: Reggie White, Bruce Smith
Interior line: Mean Joe Greene, Warren Sapp
Linebackers: Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Thomas, Ray Lewis
Cornerbacks: Deion Sanders, Rod Woodson Safeties: Ronnie Lott, Ed Reed
Whities Offense:
Quarterback: Tom Brady
Running back: Christian McCaffrey
Fullback: Mike Alstott
Tackles: Anthony Munoz (considered as White), Joe Thomas Guards: John Hannah, Bruce Matthews
Center: Jim Otto Wide receivers: Fred Biletnikoff, Steve Largent
Tight end: Rob Gronkowski
Defense:
Defensive ends: J.J. Watt, Gino Marchetti
Interior line: Bob Lilly, Merlin Olsen
Linebackers: Dick Butkus, Kevin Greene, Jack Lambert Cornerbacks: Jason Sehorn, Dick LeBeau
Safeties: John Lynch, Eric Weddle
Both teams boast immense talent. Defending Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss would be a monumental challenge for the White team. Moreover, the White offense, led by Brady and Gronk, with Alstott clearing the way for McCaffrey, looks formidable.
However, the Black defense is truly remarkable. Names like Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, Mean Joe Greene, Ronnie Lott, and Ed Reed stand out. With Coach Prime and Rod Woodson covering Fred Biletnikoff and Steve Largent, it would be an intense battle.
Mendenhall’s idea to replace the Pro Bowl with a Black vs. White game is intriguing. It would surely be an exciting and competitive event that could even end the race war once and for all.
